Finally... A Recap of Sorts

Family, friends, and pals everywhere,

We are so sorry it has taken us so long to post updates on this blog. We are, in fact, still alive and well (although Tiber almost didn't make it. He would not shut up in Kansas, which is the worst state to bark through). We limped into Portland with all of our things barely holding on to our beloved Jeep, Obadiah. Obi hasn't been doing so hot since we got here. Hopefully he will make a full recovery, but we aren't holding our breath (well, actually we are. The fumes coming out of that car are unreal).

The following pictures create a brief (veeerrry brief) recap of our trip and life out here so far. We hope you enjoy the sights! We definitely did, and look forward to letting you know a little bit more about what we have discovered in Portland so far...

Obi - loaded down for the trek.
Drove through the Rockies! They were, in fact, rocky.

Utah was absolutely beautiful!

We took a bunch of pictures in Utah.

The bear slept most of the trip in odd and uncomfortable looking positions. But then there was Kansas....so much barking!

This was taken near the end of the trip....you can tell by their bored faces.

Then we got to Oregon and realized we had just made it to paradise.

Driving into downtown Portland was a little surreal.

Then we made it to our apartment and nearly cried because it is so small.

Once we bought some furniture...the apartment started looking better!

Now its cozy and sweet and its beginning to grow on us.
So far we have really enjoyed our time out here. It still feels a bit like we are visiting, but once we both are fully occupied with jobs and/or school, we will settle into a routine.

Stay tuned for more Portland updates and Tiber thoughts!

Much love,
T and E (and little t)

Day 1

Well folks, its 11:40pm. We're exhausted from our day of traveling, but so thankful that we made it safely (with no car problems) to Saint Louis, Missouri. Interesting fact: according to good ole' Wikipedia, St. Louis is the 58th-largest U.S. city. Cool right?!

We'll tell you more details when we aren't grappling with exhaustion. We love and miss you all already! Here are a few Smart Phone pictures from the day.
Tiber's cave in the back seat.
Driving through Tennessee
Tennessee is really a beautiful state.
Illinois farmland - you can see for ages. I can't imagine how Kansas is going to be.
We took a wrong turn and ended up driving past Busch Stadium in downtown St. Louis!
Missouri Sunset - quite beautiful! Its so flat.

Tiber Thoughts, part 1

Hi,

My first blog post!  I would rather be doing something else (like sleeping on the couch or eating peanut butter or gnawing on the bearded man's arm or eating peanut butter), but this seems like so much fun too! I tried to type it myself, but I don't have "thumbs", and while my dewclaws are awesome, they aren't so great for typing. So I am telling the bearded man what I want to say and he is using his high and mighty  "thumbs" to type! Yay! Everyone helps!

Sorry, had to take a break and go to my kennel for a while. I kept jumping on the sliding glass door and the bearded man thought I might break it but he looks out it all the time and he is way bigger than me but its ok I love him anyways. The beautiful lady and bearded man are putting all their stuff into the brown things they call "boxes" and the "boxes" are totally tasty but they keep telling me I can't eat them. I wonder if they will put me in a "box"? They seem like fun and I would never be hungry because they are so tasty! If I don't know what something is I put it in my mouth and then I decide if I like it or not because if it is tasty I like it and if it is not tasty I don't like it. That is how I decided I like the beautiful lady. When the beautiful lady and bearded man brought me to this tasty castle (that is what I call it here because everything is so delicious!), I didn't know what to think about her so I tasted her arm. She was fun to look at because she is so pretty but that is waay less important than how she tastes. She is really sweet and I like that. The bearded man is a bit salty and it took me a while to like him but now I love both of them so much and they are my best friends and so are you.

Bye.
